A diagnosis of cancer is both physically and emotionally traumatic.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history of helping people with their health issues and at the clinic we focus on your individual needs and address your symptoms, regarding your treatment path, to support you through this difficult period.

Current scientific research suggests that acupuncture may help to decrease some of the unwanted side-effects of treatment including nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy.

A systematic review assessed manual or electroacupuncture or acupressure for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting found evidence to support the use of acupuncture for vomiting after chemotherapy and acupressure for reducing nausea after chemotherapy.

(McKeon, Chris, Smith, Caroline, Hardy, Janet, Chang, Esther (2013). Acupuncture and acupressure for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: a systematic review. Australian Journal of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Vol.8(1), p.2-27)

Another review reports emerging evidence that acupuncture is an effective and safe intervention in treating certain side effects of chemoradiation therapy in cancer patients. This review  indicates that acupuncture is beneficial for chemotherapy-induced nausea, vomiting, and cancer pain.
